History of Wimbledon! This Open Era record is tied by Dimitrov…..

With just two rounds completed, The Championships has already made history.

Including Grigor Dimitrov’s victory over Shang Juncheng (5-7, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2, 6-4), this week has now seen nine comebacks from two sets down. That ties the Open Era record for the most Wimbledon comebacks from a two-set deficit in 1974, 1990, and 1997.

“Throughout these past months, I have continued to believe in myself, my body, my fitness, and everything that I have put in,” Dimitrov remarked.

In the opening round of the competition, eight out of the nine two-set comebacks took place. It was Dimitrov’s first win in the second round.

Since you’re now taking care of your own lane during the first week of the Slam, I don’t give it any thought. According to Dimitrov, you want to sort of ride this momentum and whatever match is in front of you. “I don’t give it any thought. Even when I was two sets down today, all I could do was attempt to concentrate on the task at hand. Like I stated, it’s really challenging.
